KING OF THE POP
Michael Jackson was a very famous singer, songwriter, and
dancer who won several prizes before his sudden death in 2009. He was praised
globally for transforming the pop music and many respected him as the king of
pop since he actually changed the music industry and the popular culture. He
was born in Gary, Indiana on 29 August 1958 and his music career started when
he was a child singing alongside his family under Motown group.
Michael Jackson is said to have started performing alone at
the age of thirteen when he released a single album. In 1971, he launched an
album titled, “Go to be there,” which impressed several individuals making it
one of the best selling in the country. In 1972, he released another album with
the name Ben. The album featured eponymous ballad concerning the rat and the
song was the first single.
Michael Jackson also known as the king of pop was a
worldwide musical sensation. Jackson was born in Indiana and began his music
career at the young age of five. Jackson and his siblings started a music group
called ‘The Jackson 5’, although Jackson was the youngest, he was the best
singer out of the group. While performing, the audience began to notice the
vocal range he had which eventually led to multiple record deals.
Jackson’s music videos were like mini movies. He spent
millions of dollars and hours producing the videos, which have all topped the
charts. He earned multiple Grammy Awards. Jackson collaborated with director
John Landis to create a Halloween masterpiece. ‘Thriller’ went platinum in the
U.S. and triple platinum in Australia. It became one of Billboard’s ‘Top 10
Halloween Songs’, and one of the Guinness World Records ‘Most Successful Music
Videos’. It was the beginning of a new era for artists around the world.
