World senior citizens' day
World senior citizens' day named for appreciate the
generations which made your world. It falls on August 21st.This is valuable
opportunity to appreciate your senior citizens and express your love to them.
In 1998 the president of United State Mr. Ronald Regan
announced this day to build awareness about their problems and their living conditions. The main purpose is
remember and admire senior generations for their service to the society.
Today we are enjoying all the resources, we have got thanks
to the senior generation who work hard to earn them. But in developing country
like Sri Lanka, senior citizens lives are miserable. Often only who worked in
the government service they have some
privileges. But that citizens who are like the citizens who aren't like that
they haven't anything. They are engaged to work which time they should rest for
be alive. The situation is developed countries are different from this. Their
elderly community spends their lives comfortably. They often work as habit in
their old age.
As a generation that knows the virtues, we must fulfill our
duties to the senior citizens who are still suffering in our country. We must
make suitable environment to live an independent and dignified lives. Specially
mental satisfaction should be given.
Finally, wishing all the senior citizens in whole world
lovely senior citizens' day.
