We, the Leo Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts, proudly represent Leo District 306 A1. Under the capable leadership of President Leo Tharushika Peelikumbura, we have dedicated ourselves to the noble cause of volunteerism. Our mission is clear: we strive to make society a better place for all.
As a youth volunteer club, we view Leo as an exceptional
platform for personal growth. It's a place where we learn the intricacies of
leadership, the art of effective communication, and where we forge new and
invaluable relationships. Through our involvement, we continuously polish our
skills and develop into responsible leaders.
Over the course of nearly six years, we have demonstrated
our unwavering commitment to this mission. During this time, we have been
recognized with numerous awards from Leo District 306A1 and Leo Multiple
District 306, which affirm our dedication to the betterment of society.
Beyond the boundaries of our club, we have extended our
helping hand to numerous communities in need. Our areas of focus encompass a
wide array of categories, including the environment, infrastructure
development, health, nutrition, and food safety. We actively promote
responsible consumption and efficient waste management to reduce our
environmental footprint. Fellowship is a cornerstone of our efforts, as we
strive to foster a sense of belonging within the community. Our commitment to
youth empowerment is a testament to our dedication to the future, while our
support for women's empowerment champions equality and opportunity for all. We
don't forget our senior citizens, as we are equally committed to their
development and well-being. Quality education and literacy are essential
components of our mission, ensuring that knowledge and learning are accessible
to everyone.
The Leo Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts has
consistently served as a symbol of hope and inspiration. With our collective
dedication, we aim to make an enduring impact on society, creating a better
place for all its members. We take pride in our journey thus far, and we are
resolute in our commitment to continue making society a better place in the
years to come.
